On behalf of our Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, and the Officers of our Provincial Grand Conclave, we welcome you to our site. We hope you will enjoy your visit and come back soon.

The purpose of what we have done here is to bring to the attention of Craft Masons the existence of our beautiful Order, based on caring and friendship, and - yes, to encourage you to join us.

If you are not already a Freemason, we heartily recommend that you consider joining the Craft and will be happy to give you more details, if you send us an email.

The basic qualification for joining our Order is to be a Master Mason and, if you are one, let us just spend a few minutes filling you in on what the Order of the Secret Monitor (or OSM as it is called for short) is all about.

We explain on our Information Page about the structure of the Degrees in the Order and, on our List of Conclaves page we give particulars of the OSM Conclaves in our part of the world. If you don't live anywhere near Cheshire and North Wales, go to our Links page, which may be able to connect you to another Province, nearer to wherever you live.

Unlike most Masonic Orders in England, the OSM covers the whole of the British Isles (unfortunately we don't have any conclaves in Ireland), from Lands End to John O'Groats. If therefore you can't find a link to anywhere near to you, drop us an email and we will try to put you in touch with your nearest Provincial Conclave.

The fundamental tenet of our Order is FRIENDSHIP. Peculiar to the OSM is the appointment of Officers called Visiting Deacons (there are four in each Conclave), whose job it is between meetings to contact the members and make sure they are fit and well and have no problems they need help with. The Deacons are required to report at each Conclave meeting on the status of each member, so that any action which needs to be taken to relieve distress of any kind, can be taken

The OSM is an Order well worth belonging to. It makes little demand on either the time or the pocket, at least until senior ranks are reached and it brings home the Biblical lessons of love, friendship and caring for each other which are endemic to this wonderful Order.

We do hope you will give consideration to joining the OSM and look forward to welcoming you.
